Lately I’ve been arguing with my boyfriend on an every day basis.
Today my dad caught me crying.
Dad woke up mom. Mom woke up to give me a lesson about love screaming her lungs away about how I don’t have respect for myself and I don’t have respect for my parents either. About how my boyfriend ain’t shit. And the usual “the doors of my house are open for whenever you wanna get the fuck out my house”.
I turned 22 two days ago, why do I feel like I’m 14 again?
I get it. Parents want the best for their kids. And maybe my boyfriend ain’t shit either, I don’t understand what is it that they gain getting involved in my personal life to this level though.
“Tough love” doesn’t always work.
This time around though, I won’t do what pleases her. It’s time I start making my decisions regardless of her opinion.
